About Kim Castle

As a part of my attempts to overcome an eating disorder in my late teens and early twenties (when far less was known about the causes and treatment of eating disorders) I began seeing a Psychoanalyst regularly. This work was very intense but enabled me to make huge changes in my life; so much so that I chose to train as a counsellor myself.

Having completed BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) accredited Advanced and Post Graduate Diplomas in Psychodynamic Counselling with Cambridge University I began to work as a counsellor, primarily with clients who had experienced childhood sexual abuse.

Around ten years ago I then I heard about and experienced two types of ‘meridian energy therapy’ (TFT – Thought Field Therapy and EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques) and was so amazed at the changes that these can effect that I knew I had to learn this approach also.

Having begun studying EFT several years ago with original Founding Master Practitioners Gwyneth Moss, Sue Beer and Emma Roberts, I then trained in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) with Sue and Emma as part of the Diploma in IET (Integrated Energy Techniques) I found that by fusing these techniques with traditional counselling practice clients made progress and attained their goals far more quickly.

I then heard about Faster EFT, and moved on to study this with it’s creator Robert G Smith. I am currently a Level 3 Practitioner.

Although appearing similar to traditional EFT, because Faster EFT incorporates NLP, it offers an understanding of the way our minds work, and how we structure and process our thoughts that was previously absent. This understanding means that we are even more empowered to take charge consciously of what happens within our own minds; it puts us in the driving seat, rather than leaving us feeling like passengers of our unconscious minds and environment.

Faster EFT also incorporates hypnosis, and in order to increase my knowledge of this aspect of the process I went on to study hypnosis in it’s own right, gaining a Diploma in ‘Clinical Hypnotherapy and Hypno-analysis’ at The Essex Institute. This has further increased my understanding and appreciation of Faster EFT as an entire system, and enhanced my abilities as a practitioner.

In addition to seeing clients privately I also work as a counsellor and trainer for a local charity providing counselling for adult survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse.

I work with clients with a variety of issues both face to face and over skype, and have been surprised to discover that Faster EFT works equally well in either modality.
